We have been asked to help University College London with some of their completing a short online survey. We are delighted to be able to help.....

Are you aged 60 years and over?

Are you currently experiencing difficulties with generalised anxiety disorder or long-term worrying?

If the answer is yes then we would like to hear from you.

We have developed a short survey that will ask you about what types of treatment you have been offered for generalised anxiety disorder or long-term worrying and how well this has worked for you.

This should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

If you are interested in taking part then please go to:

Having done some reading about this research and anxiety disorders in general I am fascinated by how widespread it is. Apparently forty million adults deal with anxiety disorders, according to the National Institute of Mental Health, and only 42.2 percent of those people are in treatment. Don't we all, at some time, experience some form of anxiety? I know I do, and as I get older, I find this becomes more noticeable and acute - perhaps because we have more time to dwell on it....more time to imagine things....and less ability to do much about it! I am going to look up some poems that might help with anxiety... :)

I'm sorry to hear that Tony, but I am sure your comment will be of interest to the researchers.

Tony, my thoughts exactly....The only treatment I have ever been offered is a course of " pill popping..." never a course of leading to the reasons behind my " anxiety "....I personally stay clear of any forms of medications unless a medication is to save my life....Personally I am thankful there are no yet available " disease modifying drugs " ( will be next year, ) to deal with my PP-MS diagnoses of two years ago at the age of 64....

I am one of those fortunate people that never gets anxious or depressed. Having seen both of these at close hand in family and friends any research will be useful.

You are very fortunate Robert. Perhaps you could encourage your family and friends who do suffer to complete the survey (which is quite short) as they need as much input to their research as possible, and it all helps - thanks :)
