At first I thought it was a scam!!

The only problem is that I don't find the image very easy to read and I can't work out how to make it larger.......I hope everyone knows how to make the image bigger using their browser zoom control......

Mary, thank you for posting this information.....the main one I always use is the...." check the display on the bottom left hand corner, or hover over the link with your mouse to reveal its true destination..." that is the one I most use, hovering over the link, its true destination comes alive...I have often gotten an email from, lets say...Paypal, if I am ever in doubt I go into Paypal direct, my own way, and check all is as it should be...always making sure I have logged back out...
Usually bad spelling is the dead give-away...or the fact they never address us by our name...

This is excellent information Mary. I am always careful whenever using the Internet for purchases....nevertheless I am not infallible and any extra info is always welcome.
I have had those 'phishing' emails from PayPal Jackie. I have got to know that they don't use names or, as you say, there are spelling mistakes. I NEVER open these and forward them directly to PayPay, they have a department that deals with them....hopefully....I bet they get hundreds of thousands every day.

Phishing on the internet and cold calls on the telephone are some of today's unpleasant realities. There are so many pitfalls for the unwary. We may not want to expect the worst in people, but we have to be realistic and be prepared to doubt even the most attractive of smiles. Your information is very welcome Mary. Thank you.
